Our Business Advisory Board
The Business Advisory Board provides guidance, counsel and assistance to educational partners to navigate the federal government procurement process. Board members help identify business development opportunities, provide advice on capture planning and proposal development, review white papers and provide comments to make proposals competitive in Army and other Department of Defense environments.
Specifically, Board members serve in the following capacities:
Finally, Business Advisory Board members may serve as subject matter experts (SMEs) on funded projects and receive compensation for their services on those projects, where applicable.

- Help match educational partners to specific research opportunities
- Assist educational partners in finding and gaining access to needed resources

Our Partners
Applied Research Institute (ARI): ARI and TCRDF have joined forces to conduct DARPAConnect, a program designed to enhance DARPA engagements with HBCUs.

Army’s Combat Capabilities Development Command and Georgia Tech Research Institute: TCRDF supports a research and workforce development initiative designed to produce additional HBCU research partnerships with GTRI and secure additional HBCU graduates to pursue employment opportunities in the Defense industry.

Amazon Web Services (AWS): TCRDF supports AWS’ efforts to find HBCU research partners.

Brown University: Tougaloo College has a formal relationship with Brown University that has been in existence for nearly sixty years. The partnership focuses on student and teacher exchanges. Research and contract partnerships are being discussed as additional components of the partnership.

Deloitte: TCRDF supports Deloitte’s efforts to increase its engagements with HBCUs and partners with Deloitte to pursue federal research and contract opportunities.

HBCU Research and Innovation Network (HBCU RAIN): TCRDF supports HBCURain with annual events and network opportunities such as HBCU Research and Innovation Week and HBCU Cyber Week.

Mississippi State University: Mississippi State University serves as a research and contracts mentor to TCRDF.

National Contract Management Association (NCMA): TCRDF and NCMA collaborates to prepare HBCU students for a career in acquisition and contract management by introducing the possibilities to HBCU students and enticing students to seek a government approved acquisition and contract management certification through NCMA.

Purdue University and Parallax Advanced Research: TCRDF supports an effort to prepare undergraduate HBCU students for a career in the field of microelectronics by leveraging and strengthening the existing SCALE program and Purdue faculty expertise in microelectronics and online learning to tap into engineering and physics students at HBCUs.

Senior Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE): This partnership exists to support and empower current and future entrepreneurs by boosting awareness for SCORE’s educational resources and free expert mentoring among HBCU administrators, faculty, students, and alumni. TCRDF is also interested in utilizing SCORE’s mentoring expertise to explore federal contracting opportunities for Tougaloo College, with the goal of sharing best practices and resources with other HBCUs.

University of South Florida (USF): The University of South Florida and TCRDF seek relationships with HBCUs to collaboratively seek funding opportunities from federal, state, and private sources.
