-John Rosenthall, President TCRDF
About
The Tougaloo College Research and Development Foundation was established in 2016 with the goal of enhancing the research and contract capabilities of HBCUs. Historically, there have been disparities in the amount of funding provided by government sources to different institutions of higher education. Our mission is to assist HBCUs in obtaining an equitable portion of these funding opportunities by facilitating partnerships between them and research entities, such as University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs), Majority Serving Institutions, federal contractors, and other organizations.
Our Impact
Supported ~$2 Million in Research Projects
Conducted HBCU Research and Innovation Week*
|
Secured a three-year contract totaling $1.5 million
Conducted HBCU Cyber Week*
|
Provided 75% of the salary for a PhD in Cybersecurity
Formed partnerships with Amazon Web Services, Gregoria Tech, and ZOOM*
*partnership with HBCU RAIN

A Message from one of our supporters:
Mr. Rosenthall:
Just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how much we at AAMU-RISE appreciate the efforts of you and the TCRDF team, in support of the HBCU community!
As the contracting entity for AAMU, an HBCU in Huntsville, AL, you have proven invaluable in our efforts to secure funding with DoD through the various UARC programs. The multiple outreach programs that you have hosted over the past few years have helped us build a foundational network of resources in the UARC community that have led to the award of multiple contract task orders to AAMU-RISE.
Thank you for your efforts in support of AAMU-RISE, and the greater HBCU ecosystem. We look forward to continuing and expanding our relationship with you and TCRDF!
Best regards,
Andrew Scott
